By Emily Choong, CPU graduate 2011

A total of 169 Canadian Pre-University (CPU) students emerged as fresh graduates from Taylor’s College Subang Jaya (TCSJ) at the 61st Graduation Ceremony on 13 December 2012. An impressive 46% of the total graduates obtained an overall score of 80% or higher.

Receiving the President’s Award for the highest academic standing of 95% was Yeoh Tze Tin who also walked away with special awards for outstanding scores in Science (97.50%) and Computer Studies (96%).

Abdulla Gammal, an Egyptian student who lived and studied in Saudi Arabia, came to Malaysia knowing barely a word of English. He graduated proudly and is aiming to pursue Medicine.

“Studying at Taylor’s was a new experience and a new challenge for me because I started off not knowing much English (reading and speaking). It was difficult but with the support from my teachers and Intensive English class, I got used to it and I said, ‘Ok, let’s go through the programme. Let’s do it!’ CPU helped me a lot and it is the best programme ever,” he said enthusiastically.
