Demand for Professional Qualifications Rising

SUBANG JAYA: The demand for professional qualifications is rising among young finance executives in tandem with the evolving global economic landscape.

In a statement today, Taylor's College president, Lim Tou Boon, said the role of finance professionals has expanded beyond managing core financial functions, to becoming the trusted advisor in strategic business decision-making.

"A professional qualification, such as ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), allows young executives to gain a broad-range of skill sets and knowledge to meet the increasing demand for excellence and professionalism in the corporate world," he said.

He said the qualification would also allow the students to explore beyond and accounting career, taking on versatile roles such as risk management and corporate governace.

Globally, almost 195,000 candidates attempted the ACCA examination in December 2013, out of which about 15,000 were from Malaysia.
