WACKY Goes Around the World

Ladies and gentlemen boy’s and girls’ welcome on board flight WACKY 360; kindly fasten your seatbelts as we take you on a journey around the world, from Egypt to China and from Japan to Italy; experience the sights and sounds; and indulge in a gastronomical spread of delicacies from around the world –

Hosted by Welfare and Charity Keen Youths' Society (WACKY) of Taylor's College Subang Jaya, the one day ‘Around the World’ carnival was held on July 25. The carnival brought cheers and smiles to over 150 underprivileged children and their respective caretakers from various homes and institutions namely: Rumah Ozanam Klang, Rumah Ozanam Petaling Jaya, Saint Barnabas Home, Elhaddai Refugee Learning Centre, Yayasan Seribu Harapan Malaysia and Kelang Utama.

The campus was aptly transformed with props representing each country, heightening the experience for the children who were fascinated with the various sights as they traveled across Egypt to visit the Giza and understand the history of mankind; learning the various Dynasties in China whilst indulging in some yummy-licious’ Dim Sums with the Emperor and his Empress.

The children also got to experience the cultural sights and sounds of Thailand, try their hand at sushi making while in Japan; enjoyed a pony ride and spending some fun moments at the petting zoo in Africa, and finally embarking on a culinary delight awaiting them in France and Italy. At the end of their world tour, a colourful carnival with fun games and activities awaited them.

With over 100 volunteers, WACKY is dedicated to reaching out to the community, catering to the needs of the less fortunate and to inspire youths towards adopting a lifestyle of contributing to charity, in line with Taylor’s College golden mantra of Life Skills, Learning Skills and Leadership Skills that provides a continuous cycle for success and excellence.
